Seattle Seahawks chief executive Tod Leiweke claimed that he was not genuine in searching coach before settling Pete Carroll as the team's coach.

Leiweke also confirmed another offer to former Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Tony Dungy as the team president after introducing Carroll as the eighth coach in the Seahawks' 34-year history. Leiweke said he did not to defend himself with the Rooney Rule and Tony was the first call he had made. The NFL's Rooney Rule requires teams to interview minority candidates.
